WPD Officers Arrest Man for Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Along with Being in Possession of a Stolen Motorcycle

On Sunday, June 16, 2024, Worcester Police officers observed a male known to have warrants. After confirming he had three active warrants, officers tracked thirty-two-year-old Kerdinand Percy Fuentes to Blake Street where he was at the back of a UHaul. An officer observed a motorcycle near the truck which appeared to be controlled by Fuentes.
Upon
seeing the cruiser, Fuentes began to walk toward Harrison Street. Officers noticed he was carrying a shoulder strap bag, Officers exited their vehicle and called out his name and Fuentes started to run. He jumped over a chain link fence and concrete wall before climbing up to the third floor of a residence on Harrison Street. He quickly came down and officers placed handcuffs on Fuentes.
Officers noticed Fuentes was no longer wearing the shoulder strap bag. An officer found the bag in a backyard on Blake Street. The Crime Scene Unit arrived on scene and located a loaded firearm inside of the bag. Officers determined Fuentes does not have an active license to carry. A wallet containing a Massachusetts ID, a credit card belonging to Fuentes and some keys were also discovered in the bag.
Officers returned to Blake Street where Fuentes was originally found near a UHaul and a motorcycle. An investigation confirmed a motorcycle was stolen. It appeared to have been recently spray painted black. The keys found in Fuentes’ bag worked with the UHaul’s Master Lock. Paint, tools and parts were found inside of the UHaul.
Fuentes is charged with his three warrants, along with carrying a loaded firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license. Carrying a loaded firearm without a license (second offense), possession of ammunition without FID card and receiving stolen property over $1,200.
