On March 26th 2022 at about 3:40 PM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the area of 474 Grafton St for a report of a fight. Upon arrival, officers located a man and a woman confronting a male, later identified as Garrett Happy, thirty-five-years-old of Elsmere St. The male and female said that the female’s vehicle had been stolen earlier in the morning, and that they had seen it drive through Rice Square. They confronted Mr. Happy, who was driving the vehicle, and called the police.
Officers ran the vehicle through CJIS and determined that it had been reported stolen. Mr. Happy had no legitimate reason to possess the vehicle and was placed under arrest for Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Use of a Motor Vehicle without Authority. A search of the vehicle revealed what appeared to be heroin and drug packaging materials including bags and a scale. Mr. Happy’s driver’s license was suspended and he was charged criminally for Operating with a Suspended License and Possession of a Class A Substance with Intent to Distribute. The vehicle was returned to its rightful owner and Mr. Happy will be arraigned in court.
