On March 27th 2022 at about 3:50 AM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to a Canterbury St address for a report of a possible stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located a male stabbing victim outside the residence. Officers were told that there was a party at the residence and the suspects were still inside and possibly armed with firearms.
After rendering medical aid to the victim and briefly speaking with witnesses, officers entered the apartment and detained several individuals inside. After a brief investigation, officers developed probable cause that a male, later identified as Palermo Baez, thirty-four-years-old of Doane St, picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim.
Mr. Baez was placed under arrest and is charged with Mayhem, Armed Assault with intent to Murder, and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. Officers located and removed a firearm from the residence. Mr. Baez will be arraigned in court. The victim was transported to the hospital with injuries that are not expected to be life threatening.
