On April 13th, 2024, a Worcester Police officer responded to the WPD lobby for a report of a past unarmed robbery. The officer received information that the seventy-two-year-old victim had been outside his Millbury St apartment when he noticed a male urinating on the sidewalk. He took pictures of this male, who became aggressive.
The individual, later identified as thirty-five-year-old Livingston Taylor, began chasing the victim through Kelly Square. Officers determined that Mr. Taylor pushed the victim to the ground and took the phone. Officers were given a description of the phone and were able to observe photos of the suspect.
Shortly after taking the report, two officers were on patrol in the area of Kelley Square when they observed Mr. Taylor walking on Madison St. He was wearing the same clothes as the officers saw in the photos. Mr. Taylor was arrested and the phone was recovered from his pocket. Officers confirmed that it belonged to the victim. Livingston Taylor was charged with Unarmed Robbery with a Victim over 60 and Assault and Battery with a Victim over 60.
