WPD Officers Arrest Male for Trafficking Fentanyl, Crack Cocaine

On July 23rd, 2024, at approximately 6:35 PM, Worcester Police officers observed a male, later identified as forty-nine-year-old Wilberto Negron of Worcester, operating a moped on Main Street. Officers observed Negron failing to use his directional signal as he turned into the parking lot of a convenience store. Further investigation revealed the moped had an expired registration.
Officers entered the store, escorted Negron out and advised him that he was operating the moped with an expired registration. It was also determined that his driver’s license had been revoked. A large amount of money was observed in his fanny pack and a search of his person led to a number of bags of illegal narcotics. Negron was arrested.
The nine baggies of Fentanyl and one bag of crack cocaine found in Negron were weighed at the station, with the Fentanyl weighing 22.3 grams and the crack cocaine weighing 4.6 grams.
Negron is charged with trafficking more than 10 grams of Fentanyl, Possession with intent to distribute Class B, Operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license and expired registration.
