On September 7th 2023 at about 4:45 PM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to a reported assault with a dangerous weapon on Austin St. Officers were told that a male was threatening a resident with a knife, and was still outside the property.
Officers arrived and observed a male, identified as Wilfred Zayzay, thirty-three-years-old of Queen St, asleep on the porch with a knife in his hand. Officers called to Mr. Zayzay and asked him to drop the knife. Mr. Zayzay got up and refused to drop the knife. An officer drew his department-issued Taser and told Mr. Zayzay to drop the knife again, at which point Mr. Zayzay complied.
Officers placed Mr. Zayzay under arrest, and discovered that he had an active warrant for Armed Robbery. He is additionally charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
