On June 3rd 2022 at about 1:15 PM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to King St for a report of two males brandishing firearms. When officers arrived, they observed a group of males that immediately dispersed. When officers attempted to speak with one of the males, later identified as Stephen Konah, twenty-years-old of Rockwell St, grabbed his waistband and took off running toward Main St. Officers followed Mr. Konah behind an alley at 2 King St, and observed Mr. Konah jumping on top of a dumpster and over a fence. The officer briefly lost sight of him, but continued to follow.
Mr. Konah crossed Main Street, and vehicles had to hit their brakes to avoid hitting him. Other officers joined in the foot pursuit and Mr. Konah was taken into custody on Benefit St. Officers located a loaded handgun near the dumpster, where they had briefly lost sight of Mr. Konah. Stephen Konah is charged with Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Improper Storage of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm without an FID Card, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, Resisting Arrest, Trespass, and Disorderly Conduct.
