On January 2nd 2023 at about 5:50 PM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the parking lot of McGovern’s Package Store at 82 Millbury St for a report of a fight. As officers arrived to the call, they were informed that two individuals had just been stabbed. Officers located two stabbing victims and rendered medical aid.
Witnesses frantically pointed to a male, identified as Edward King, forty-two-years-old of Berkeley St, and said that he had stabbed the two males. Mr. King refused officers’ commands to stop, and walked quickly away from them before being stopped at Millbury and Lamartine St.
Officers detained Mr. King, who was identified by witnesses. He was placed under arrest and is charged with two counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) and Disorderly Conduct. Officers located a knife on Lamartine St. The victims were transported by ambulance to the hospital. Mr. King will be arraigned in court.
