On Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at approximately 1:00 pm, WPD officers were called to a possible assault & battery at Sunderland Road. They discovered a thirty-year-old male suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
An investigation led police to a juvenile suspect, who gave a brief foot chase, which ended in the Green Street area. The suspect kicked officers as they placed him into custody. A large kitchen knife was found on his person. The suspect is charged with A&B on a police officer, A&B DW, Aggravated with Serious Bodily Injury, Armed Assaulted to Murder, Disorderly Conduct and Disturbing the Peace.
