On February 9th 2024, Worcester Police Neighborhood Response Team officers were on patrol in the area of Southbridge St. At about 11:50 AM, an officer observed a black Honda Accord turn right without signaling onto Jackson St from Southbridge St. The officer activated his blue lights and pulled the vehicle over in the area of Hollis St.
The driver of the vehicle, thirty-seven-year-old Angel Martinez of Granite St, had a suspended driver’s license. Mr. Martinez was removed from the car, and officers located a large amount of what appeared to be fentanyl, several bags of what appeared to be crack cocaine, what appeared to be brass knuckles and a spring loaded knife, and several bags of marijuana.
Mr. Martinez was placed under arrest and is charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License, Trafficking in Fentanyl over 10 Grams, Possession of a Class B Substance (Crack cocaine) with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon (Brass knuckles) and Possession of Class D with Intent to Distribute.
