On February 9th 2024, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to several incidents involving assaults with a paintball gun. Various pedestrians reported being shot at by the operator of a gray Honda Civic. Officers observed paint on victims, who reported that the vehicle stopped near them and a male fired paintballs at them. A BOLO was issued for the vehicle, based on available information.
On February 10th at about 12:05 AM, an officer working the After Hours patrol observed a vehicle take a right from Pleasant to Hudson St at a high rate of speed. The officer followed the vehicle, and saw that it was the license plate matched the vehicle described by the victims. The officer activated his blue lights on Townsend St, and conducted a motor vehicle stop.
As the officer approached the vehicle, a male exited the vehicle and took off running toward Pleasant St. He was taken into custody and was identified as a sixteen-year-old. The operator of the vehicle, identified as nineteen-year-old David Asemani of Standish St, had a suspended driver’s license and was placed under arrest. A paintball gun was located in the vehicle. Both males are charged with multiple counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.
