On January 28th 2024, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to Target on Lincoln St for a report of multiple people stealing large amounts of merchandise together. As officers approached, they were updated that the group had left in a white Toyota Camry/. Officers encountered the vehicle and pulled it over on Lincoln St.
Officers detained the vehicle while surveillance footage was viewed. The footage confirmed that the males in the vehicle appeared to be the males seen shoplifting in the store. Officers confirmed that the males appeared to be working together, and that they stole thousands of dollars of merchandise.
George Gvelesiani, thirty-five-years-old of Philadelphia, Vakhtang Barkalaia, forty-one-years-old of Brooklyn, and Giorgi Adeishvili, forty-one-years-old of Mountain Top, Pennsylvania were placed under arrest. They are charged with Larceny over $1200, Organized Retail Crime, and five counts of Deactivation or Removal of a Theft Detection Device.
