On July 27th 2022 at about 9:30 AM, officers possessed an arrest warrant for Edward Kloucek, a fifty-year-old resident of East Kendall St. Officers spoke with Mr. Kloucek, who refused to open the door. Although Mr. Kloucek did not have a license to carry firearms, officers had information that he possessed a rifle. After attempting to make further contact with Mr. Kloucek and his continuing refusal to open the door, officers activated Crisis Negotiators and the SWAT team.
Negotiators briefly made contact with Mr. Kloucek, who hung up the phone. After over two hours of attempting to contact Mr. Kloucek, SWAT officers and a K9 unit made entry to the residence. The K9 alerted inside the residence, and officers located Mr. Kloucek and placed him in handcuffs. Officers recovered a rifle from the residence.
Mr. Kloucek was placed under arrest for his warrant and is additionally charged with four counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Intimidation of a Witness and Armed Career Criminal Level 3.
