On November 7th, 2024, at approximately 6:35 PM, Worcester Police detectives with the Crime Gun Intelligence Unit observed a vehicle fail to come to a complete stop at a stop sign.
Officers attempted to pull the operator over on Harrison Street. The operator did not stop and drove to a nearby residence.
Gang Unit detectives assisted in removing the operator, thirty-four-year-old Deng Jiff Vilayvanh, from the vehicle and placed him under arrest. Officers located a firearm in his glove compartment and determined Vilayvanh did not have a license to carry. The Crime Scene Unit collected the firearm, which was loaded.
Vilayvanh is charged with Carrying a Firearm Without A License, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Possession of Ammunition Without An FID Card, Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License, Failure to Stop for Police, operating to Endanger, Stop Sign Violation, and Failure to Properly Display a License Plate Number.
