At approximately 8:44 PM on September 2nd, 2024, Worcester Police operations officers were dispatched to Grove Street for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a scooter. A preliminary investigation shows, the operator of the scooter stopped in the road to allow a family to cross in the crosswalk. At that time, the operator of a vehicle struck the rear of the scooter. The operator of the scooter is being treated for serious injuries. There were no other injuries. The operator of the vehicle remained on scene. The incident is under investigation by the Crash Reconstruction Unit.
