On December 11, 2024, officers with the Worcester Police Department’s Gang Unit were in possession of a search warrant for a residence on Russell Street. At approximately 6:05 a.m., the Worcester Police SWAT team made entry and located the target of the warrant, twenty-two-year-old Luke Hanley and two others, nineteen-year-old Calagio Colon and a juvenile.
Once the residence was deemed safe, members of the Gang Unit, Massachusetts State Police and ATF entered. The warrant was shown and explained to Hanley and Colon, while the juvenile’s mother was called to the scene.
Investigators searched the residence. Three firearms were found in a bedroom which Hanley claimed was his. Ammunition and a spent shell casing was found in a second bedroom. The Crime Scene Unit was called to the scene to retrieve the firearms, ammunition and shell casing. Hanley failed to provide a license to carry, and Colon is ineligible for one due to his age.
Hanley was charged with Possession of a Firearm without FID, Possession of Large Capacity Firearms, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Possession of Ammunition without FID, Possession of a Machine Gun, and Possession of a Firearm (Subsequent/Second Offense).
Colon was charged with possession of a Firearm without FID, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Possession of a Large capacity Feeding Device and Possession of Ammunition without FID.
The juvenile was charged with Possession of Ammunition without FID.
