On September 9, 2024, at approximately 6:00 PM, detectives assigned to the Worcester Police Department’s Crime Gun Intelligence Unit were patrolling the city when they observed twenty-three-year-old Angel Santana-Santiago operating a motor vehicle. The detectives suspected and confirmed he had an active warrant out for his arrest in a surrounding town and conducted a motor vehicle stop.
Santana-Santiago was arrested for the warrant at which time a firearm was recovered from his waist band. Further investigation showed his license to carry had been suspended. The Crime Scene Unit processed the firearm.
Santana-Santiago is charged with the warrant, carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, and possession of a large capacity firearm.
