On September 11th 2023, Worcester Police Vice Squad officers were conducting surveillance of a White Mercedes as part of an ongoing investigation. At about 11:50 AM, officers observed the Mercedes stop near the corner of Pitt and Cambridge St. Officers observed two males approach the driver’s side of the Mercedes, and saw them conduct hand-to-hand transactions with the driver, Alexis Grajales-Pagan, twenty-nine-years-old of Hale St. Officers stopped the two individuals who had approached the driver, and discovered bags of what appeared to be fentanyl and crack cocaine.
Officers attempted to stop Mr. Grajales-Pagan in the Mercedes on Dorchester St. Mr. Grajales-Pagan accelerated at a high rate of speed and drove away from the officers, who did not pursue the Mercedes. Officers set up surveillance in the area of Mr. Grajales-Pagan’s Hale St residence. They observed a BMW operated by a female, identified as Genesis Silva, twenty-seven-years-old of Greenwood St, pull up to the Hale St address, and Mr. Grajales-Pagan got out of the vehicle and entered his Hale St residence.
When officers saw Mr. Grajales-Pagan exiting the apartment and heading back toward the vehicle, they converged on the BMW. Mr. Grajales-Pagan was able to get into the front passenger seat, and Ms. Silva refused to show her hands or put the car into “park.” She attempted to drive forward but her exit was blocked. She put the vehicle in reverse and struck an unmarked police vehicle with an officer inside.
Officers were able to place Mr. Grajales-Pagan and Ms. Silva in custody after a brief struggle. Officers located two loaded handguns, one of which was equipped with a “Glock switch” that can enable automatic fire. They also located multiple bags of what appeared to be a large amount of crack cocaine, fentanyl, and heroin.
