On March 17th 2022, officers assigned to the Worcester Police Vice Squad had search warrants for an address on Bancroft St. Officers one of the targets of the search warrant, Christine Simpson, forty-three-years-old, left the residence and entered her vehicle. Officers pulled over the vehicle on Mason St while other officers entered the residence. Resident Dale Binns, thirty-eight-years-old, saw the officers and ran. He attempted to gain access to another apartment unsuccessfully. When officers caught up to him, he refused to show his hands and briefly struggled with officers.
After searching the apartment, officers located a black handgun, a large amount of cocaine, packaging material, a digital scale, and cash. Neither Mr. Binns nor Ms. Simpson had an FID card or a license to carry firearms. They were both placed under arrest and are charged with Trafficking in Cocaine over 200 Grams, Possession of a Firearm without an FID card, Possession of Ammo without an FID card, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Improper Storage of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony. Mr. Binns is additionally charged with resisting arrest. They will be arraigned in court.
