On October 1st, 2024, at approximately 6:15 PM, detectives assigned to the Worcester Police Department’s Crime Gun Intelligence Unit observed twenty-year-old Yvan Soup in the backseat of a vehicle. The detective knew that Soup had several warrants out for his arrest.
Detectives activated their emergency lights and pulled the vehicle over near police headquarters. Soup exited the vehicle and was placed under arrest.
During the arrest detectives located a loaded high-capacity firearm with a defaced serial number on Soup’s person. He stated that he did not have a license to carry, which was confirmed by detectives. The Crime Scene Unit collected the firearm and ammunition.
Soup is charged with the warrants, possession of a large capacity firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without an FID card, possession of a large capacity firearm with a feeding device, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number, resisting arrest and possession of an open container of alcohol.
