On April 17th 2023 at about 9:15 AM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the area of 504 Cambridge St for a report of a stolen motor vehicle. Upon arrival, they spoke with the victim, who reported that he left his red GMC running and unlocked while he went into a store. When he started back toward his vehicle, he noticed a female enter it and drive away. The vehicle information was BOLOed to other officers.
At about 12:40 PM, an officer spotted the vehicle near the intersection of Lagrange and Jackson St. The officer called for backup and pulled the vehicle over on Allen St. After a brief investigation, the officer placed the forty-three-year-old driver Amy Kannegieser, of Jefferson St, under arrest. A check through CJIS revealed that her license to operate a motor vehicle is suspended. She is charged with Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle (subsequent offense) and Operating a Vehicle with a Suspended License (subsequent offense). She will be arraigned in court.
