On February 25th 2023 at about 1:30 AM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to Mercadante’s Funeral Home on Plantation St for a report of a stolen vehicle. Officers were told that a white Lincoln had been parked in the business parking lot and had been stolen. The vehicle was visible on GPS, and officers responded to its last known location in the area of Barclay St.
An officer in the area spotted the vehicle on Houghton St. He followed the vehicle to Nuttall Lane and conducted a motor vehicle stop. The driver, fifty-year-old James Flynn of Southbridge St, was placed under arrest. Officers determined that he had been involved in a collision while driving the vehicle, and that he had a suspended driver's license. Mr. Flynn is charged with Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, Breaking and Entering into a Vehicle at Night, Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License (2nd or subsequent), Leaving the Scene of Property Damage, and Use of a Motor Vehicle without Authority.
