On January 24th 2022 at about 5:54 PM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to Target on Lincoln St for a report of a bomb threat that had been called in anonymously. The decision was made to evacuate the store. Officers called Worcester Police K9 units and the State Police Bomb Squad to the scene. Officers entered the store with their K9s and conducted an extensive search. When the store was determined to be safe at about 7:30 PM, it was opened again.
