On October 28th, 2024, at about 11:10 AM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the area of 300 Main St for a report of a robbery that had just occurred. Upon arrival, the officers were flagged down and told that a male had just struck a female and attempted to steal her purse. Officers were told that bystanders intervened and chased off the male, who fled South on Main St.
Officers received additional information that the male had approached the female from behind, shoved her, and tried to rob her by pulling on her purse. He followed the female victim and attempted to rob her multiple times. Officers checked the area for the male.
At about 11:20 AM near 660 Main St, an officer spotted a male, identified as forty-year-old Jake Cross, who matched the description given of the suspect. Officers identified Mr. Cross with video of the incident and placed him under arrest. He is charged with Aggravated Assault and Battery (Victim over 60 Years Old) and Unarmed Assault with Intent to Rob.
