On June 30th 2022 at about 1:45 PM, a Worcester Police officer was in the area of King St when he observed a moped speed by them with two occupants. The officer pulled behind the moped and activated his blue lights, and the operator of the moped did not stop. The officer followed moped operator to the area of Beaver Brook Park, where the two males exited the moped and ran away on foot.
Officers pursued the occupants on foot, and caught up with them. The two male juveniles were taken into custody and a loaded firearm was discovered in the moped. They were placed under arrest and are charged with several firearms offenses and other charges. They will be arraigned in court.
