On June 30th 2022 at about 12:50 AM, Worcester Police officers attempted to stop a motor vehicle near Main and Cambridge St. The vehicle drove off and accelerated at a high rate of speed toward Mill St before crashing into a Main St building. Officers set a perimeter and attempted to locate the occupants, who had fled.
Officers located two males, twenty-seven-year-old Kephon Dimery and twenty-year-old Juan Otero, hiding in a shed in the backyard of a Brookline St residence. Officers found evidence tying them to the vehicle. Officers located a loaded handgun near the vehicle. Neither Mr. Dimery nor Mr. Otero has a license to carry firearms. They were both placed under arrest. A second loaded handgun was located later in the morning on the path taken by the vehicle.
Mr. Dimery and Mr. Otero are charged with two counts of Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Possession of a Firearm without an FID Card, Improper Storage of a Firearm, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, and Trespass.
