On November 30th, 2024, at approximately 10:15 PM, a Worcester Police officer was traveling on Goldsberry Street when a vehicle came close to striking the rear of his vehicle. The vehicle then swerved around the officer’s vehicle, crossed over the double solid line before it pulled into a gas station.
As the officer approached the vehicle, a male passenger exited the vehicle and began to walk away. The officer spoke with the operator, later identified as thirty-six-year-old Kevin Blair, about how he was driving. He observed an open container of alcohol. Upon asking Blair for his license and registration, he began reaching between his seat and under his seat, despite the officer’s commands not to.
Blair was ordered from the vehicle. Once other officers arrived on scene, Blair’s vehicle was searched. A handgun was found under the driver’s seat, with its serial number defaced. An investigation showed he does not have a license to carry a firearm in Massachusetts. The Crime Scene Unit secured the gun.
Blair was placed under arrest. He is charged with Possession of a large capacity firearm without a License, Possession of a Firearm Without an FID Card, Possession of a Firearm with a Defaced Serial Number, Possession of Ammunition Without an FID Card and Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle.
