On April 12th, 2024, at about 1:11 AM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to a Country Club Blvd address for a report of a break in progress. Officers were told that an armed male had entered a private residence without permission. Officers located a male, identified as forty-two-year-old Joshua Paul of Grafton, who matched the description given out over the air. They detained Mr. Paul, who dropped a baseball bat and a hammer, while they investigated further.
After a brief investigation, officers determined that Mr. Paul was knocking on doors before entering a private apartment and going into a child’s room before running away into the basement. Mr. Paul was holding a baseball bat and a hammer while he did this. Officers observed that the frame of the front door was broken. Mr. Paul entered a second private apartment, and officers observed a second broken door frame. Mr. Paul was placed under arrest for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Breaking and Entering during the Night to Commit a Felony, and Vandalism.
