On July 9th, 2024 at about 1:15 PM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to Bowdoin St for a report of a possible assault. Officers were told that the suspect was twenty-nine-year-old Kalif Carpio, was had multiple outstanding arrest warrants. When officers arrived on scene, they observed Mr. Carpio leaving the scene. Officers engaged in a foot pursuit with Mr. Carpio, who was observed running through backyards on Pleasant St. Officers eventually took him into custody on Elm St.
Officers investigated the original call and developed probable cause that Mr. Carpio entered a residence without permission and assaulted a male inside. In addition to his warrants, Mr. Carpio was charged with Breaking and Entering in the Daytime (Aggravated) and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (floor).
