On September 28th 2023 at about 7:45 AM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to Dunkin Donuts at 845 Main St for a report of a male threatening people with a knife. Upon arrival, officers spoke with witnesses, who reported that a male entered the store and began making demands. When his demands were denied, he displayed a knife and began yelling at employees. A bystander tried to intervene and officers were told that the suspect put the knife in the bystander’s face before fleeing the scene. Officers issued a BOLO for the male.
While checking the area, officers located a male, identified as Curtis Bryan, fifty-one-years-old of Main St, who matched the description given by witnesses. Officers detained Mr. Bryan and located a knife in his possession. While officers were detaining him, Mr. Bryan began pulling away from officers and spitting on them. After officers gathered additional evidence linking him to the Dunkin Donuts incident, he was placed under arrest and is charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife) and Assault and Battery on a Police Officer. He also had an outstanding arrest warrant.
