On August 20th 2023 at about 3 PM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to 507 Main Street for a report of an armed robbery in progress. Officers located a male store employee who was suffering from stab wounds. Paramedics rendered medical aid to the victim and transported him to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers investigated and determined that a male had entered the store and was in the process of stealing several items. When the employee attempted to the stop the theft, the male stabbed the employee with a knife and fled the store.
Officers were able to view video footage of the incident and immediately recognized the suspect as twenty-six-year-old Anthony Parrilla. A BOLO was sent out and Mr. Parrilla was located in the area of Franklin and Harding St. He was placed under arrest. Officers were told that an additional robbery had occurred at CVS on Front St. A male, identified by officers as Mr. Parrilla, had entered the store, stolen several items, and punched employees who attempted to stop him.
Mr. Parrilla is charged with Armed Robbery, Assault with intent to Rob or Murder, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife), Unarmed Robbery, and Assault and Battery.
