On May 22, 2024 at approximately 07:20pm, detectives with the Crime Gun Intelligence Unit observed a vehicle they knew to be stolen in the area of Webster Street. They attempted to pull the vehicle over. The operator appeared to stop, but as detectives approached, he put the vehicle into reverse and rammed a police cruiser striking the passenger side door, pinning an ATF officer. The vehicle fled the scene but was quickly located on Crystal Street. Four males inside exited the vehicle and ran into the surrounding neighborhood. All of them were apprehended in the surrounding area. Nineteen-year-old Arthur Cordero is charged with Trespass, Disorderly Conduct, Disturbing the Peace, Failure to stop for Police, Operating to endanger, Leaving the scene of property damage and Use without authority. Twenty-two-year-old Devondre Cooper, twenty-year-old George Nguerassen and twenty-year-old Xavier Damion Johson, all of Worcester, are charged with Trespass, Disorderly Conduct and Disturbing the Peace.
