On September 18th, 2024, Worcester Police officers assigned to the Downtown Footbeat were conducting drug enforcement in the area of the Worcester common. At about 6:20 PM, their attention was drawn to a male who appeared to be distributing small white rocks to multiple people. After these hand-to-hand interactions, they observed the male bring what appeared to be paper currency and deliver to another man, identified as twenty-year-old Adonny Aviles of Montreal St.
Officers stopped Mr. Aviles in the area of the WRTA bus stop on Franklin St. They located a large amount of what appeared to be crack cocaine and a small amount of what appeared to be fentanyl.
After being arrested, Mr. Aviles began to threaten one of the officers. He is charged with Trafficking in a Class B Substance 18-36 Grams (crack cocaine), Possession of a Class B Substance with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Class A Substance with Intent to Distribute (fentanyl), Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Law, and Intimidation of a Witness.
