On February 25th 2024 at about 6 AM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to East Central St for a report of a male who had been shot. The victim was transported to the hospital and detectives began the follow-up investigation.
On March 21st 2024, WPD detectives obtained an arrest warrant for twenty-six-year-old Daraye Young of Laurel St. Mr. Young was charged with Armed Assault with Intent to Murder, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Firearm), Attempt to Commit a Crime (Carjacking), and Possession of a Firearm during Commission of a Felony. He was located on March 21st and placed under arrest.
