On December 23rd, 2024, at about 6:20 PM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to a ShotSpotter activation in the area of Mt Vernon St. They responded to the scene, and were told afterward that a twenty-five-year-old male gunshot victim had appeared an area hospital. Detectives were notified and the follow-up investigation began.
After an investigation, detectives developed probable cause for the arrest of a fourteen-year-old male. He was placed under arrest on December 28th and charged with Armed Assault to Murder, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (firearm), Carrying a Firearm without a License, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card, and Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling.
