On August 11th at about 7:40 PM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the area of Blithewood Ave and Oakwood Lane for a report of a motorcycle crash. Upon arrival, officers saw a small group with a twenty-four-year-old Millbury man who had crashed his motorcycle and suffered serious injuries. A nurse who happened to be on scene was giving him medical aid, and officers assisted until paramedics arrived. The man was transported to the hospital by ambulance with life-threatening injuries.
The Crash Reconstruction Unit arrived to investigate. The initial investigation determined that the man was traveling west on Blithewood Ave when he lost control of the motorcycle, struck the curb, then struck two poles. The crash remains under investigation.
