On May 10, 2024 at approximately 9:09am, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the Family Dollar on Main Street for a report of shoplifting. Once on scene, a worker told officers that he observed a woman placing several shampoo bottles in her pants and jacket. When he confronted her outside of the store, he observed her holding a knife in her hand, so he backed away for his safety. Moments later, an officer stopped a woman matching the suspect’s description. She immediately surrendered the stolen items. Thirty-year-old Monique Heard was arrested and charged with armed robbery.
