UPDATE 5/17/24: The victim of this shooting has died from his injuries. The incident will now be considered a homicide.
UPDATE: A sixteen-year-old male has been placed under arrest on a warrant in connection with this incident. He is charged with Armed Assault to Murder, Possession of a Loaded Firearm without a License to Carry, and Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card.
WPD Investigating After Male Was Shot on Paine Street
On April 30, 2024 at approximately 9:01pm, officers were dispatched to Paine Street for reports of a vehicle that had struck a house. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the male driver was suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.
