On October 28th 2023 at about 9:23 AM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to Austin Liquors on Park Ave for a report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, officers received information that someone entered the store and robbed it at gunpoint. Officers received a description of the suspect and the vehicle used during the robbery. Officers BOLOed available suspect and vehicle information and began checking the area.
About twenty-four minutes after the incident occurred, officers were informed that Massachusetts State Police troopers stopped the vehicle traveling westbound on I-90. After further investigation, two individuals were placed under arrest.
Tanveer Sidhu, thirty-three-year-sold of Jamaica, New York and Balwinder Singh, thirty-nine-years-old of South Ozone Park, New York were arrested. Mr. Sidhu and is charged with Armed Robbery while Masked, three counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, and Attempting to Commit a Crime. Mr. Singh is charged with Armed Robbery while Masked, three counts of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.
