On July 26th, 2024, at about 2:30 AM, Worcester Police officers were dispatched to a report of a carjacking in the area of Hooper St. Officers gathered information and determined that two youth were riding on a moped when two individuals pointed what appeared to be a firearm at them and stole the moped.
Officers were given additional information that two boys were currently running through backyards on Hooper St. They checked the area and observed two youth who matched the description given and were running. After a brief foot pursuit, they were detained. After further investigation, a sixteen-year-old and a fifteen-year-old boy were placed under arrest and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Armed Robbery, Resisting Arrest, and Disturbing the Peace. The moped was located and recovered.
