At its September 26, 2023 meeting, the Worcester City Council voted to ordain the Elm Park Neighborhood Local Historic District; the City's fourth and largest LHD. The vote followed a two-and-a-half year study of the neighborhood conducted by the Division of Planning & Regulatory Services on behalf of the Worcester Historical Commission. On October 5, 2023, following filing with the City Clerk, the boundary map was recorded with the plans division of the Worcester County Registry of Deeds (Plan Book 973, Plan 98), and the Elm Park Neighborhood Local Historic District was officially created.
