The Declared Winter Parking Ban in Worcester is lifted as of 6 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10.
City of Worcester Municipal Parking Garages will resume normal rates upon lifting the Declared Winter Parking Ban. Vehicles parked in City Garages during the ban must be moved within two hours of the ban being lifted.
Residents who live on streets with a Permanent Winter Parking Ban are reminded that parking restrictions are in effect every night between the hours of 2-6 a.m.
Residents are reminded to use good judgment when parking their vehicles, especially on narrow streets. Emergency vehicles may need to use these streets to respond to a situation. City of Worcester Parking Control Officers will be out in full force to ensure compliance.
In addition, residents and business owners are reminded to clear and treat sidewalks in front of their property within 10 hours after any winter storm in accordance with the City’s Sidewalk Snow Removal Ordinance.
Under this ordinance, owners and occupants of any residential or business property are required to clear and treat sidewalks adjacent to any public or private way within 10 hours after any winter storm. Snow and ice must be removed to a width of not less than 4 feet for the entire distance of said sidewalks. Sidewalks that abut crosswalks must be cleared up to the entrance of a crosswalk and around electronic signals. Residents who do not comply with this ordinance are subject to a $75 fine.
