Worcester, MA (September 8, 2016) - City Manager Edward M. Augustus and Police Chief Steven M. Sargent announced Thursday that Officer Sharon McQueen has been appointed the Department's new LGBTQ Liaison Officer.
The LGBTQ Liaison Officer position was created in 2014 to focus on the public safety needs of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning communities. "My administration is committed to making city government across all departments more accessible, inclusive and welcoming to every community in our city," said City Manager Augustus. "The LGBTQ Liaison Officer position plays a vital role in making sure all gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender residents and visitors feel safe here."
"The position of the LGBTQ Liaison Officer is an opportunity to build upon relationships and strengthen partnerships in the LBGTQ community.
