WORCESTER, Mass. – The City of Worcester invites the public to attend its upcoming Community Preservation Program forums to share feedback on how Community Preservation Act (CPA) funds should be spent.
The Community Preservation Program is holding three public forums in December for residents to voice their opinions and help shape the future of the city. Residents are invited to learn about how the CPA works and the types of projects eligible for funding and to share thoughts on how the municipality should prioritize projects.
There are three forums with links to register below:
• English Language Forum (Virtual): Dec. 10 at 1 p.m.
• English Language Forum (In-Person): Dec. 11 at 5:30 p.m. at Worcester City Hall, Levi Lincoln Chamber (third floor), 455 Main St.
• Spanish Language Forum (In-Person): Dec. 18 at 5:30 p.m. at the Worcester Public Library, Banx Room, 3 Salem Sq.
The City of Worcester adopted the CPA in 2022 and created a special Community Preservation Fund. Financed by a 1.5 percent property tax surcharge and a state match, the City expects to raise more than $4 million annually to fund locally proposed projects related to community housing, recreation, open space, and historic resources.
