WORCESTER, Mass. – The City of Worcester Department of Public Works & Parks (DPW&P) announced Monday its Fall Leaf Collection Program is scheduled to begin Monday, Nov. 4.
Weather permitting, collection is expected to be completed within four to five weeks. Leaf collection will not take place Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11, nor Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28.
The schedule for the Fall Leaf Collection Program is aligned with the trash collection route schedule. Streets will be posted prior to leaf collection to provide advance notification to residents that a No Parking Ban will be in effect during collection. Cars left on the street will be ticketed. Residents are reminded to rake leaves from sidewalk and property areas to the edge of the street gutter.
When a street is posted with leaf collection signs, residents can then push the row of leaves into the gutter. Residents are asked to rake leaves into the gutter just prior to, or on the weekend prior to, the date on which collection is scheduled to begin in your area.
A collection schedule and more information can be found online.
Residents also have the option to drop leaves off at one of the Yard Waste Disposal Sites during the following hours of operation (appointments are not required):
1065 Millbury Street (the only site that allows the disposal of brush and small branches)
300 Chandler Street
299 Clark Street
