WORCESTER, Mass. – The City of Worcester announced Wednesday temporary road closures and expected traffic delays ahead of Monday’s activation of construction for a major water line project on Highland Street in front of Doherty Memorial High School.
Starting Monday, 4/3, Highland Street (eastbound) at Newton Square will be closed every day from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. until that phase of the project is completed. The lane closure will extend from Newton Square to Park Avenue. The project is expected to take several weeks to complete. Detours will be in place; however, motorists should seek alternate routes where possible.
Excavation on Highland Street is scheduled to begin Monday, April 3 and expected to continue until Friday, April 28.
