Cooling Centers Open Monday through Wednesday, Water Available

WORCESTER, Mass. – Due to a high heat index Monday through Wednesday, the City of Worcester is activating several cooling centers for residents.
Below is a schedule of hours and locations. Each facility will have supplies of water on hand for distribution.
Monday, July 15
- Worcester Public Library (Main Branch) – 3 Salem Square | 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Worcester Public Library (Frances Perkins Branch) – 470 West Boylston St. | 12:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
- Worcester Senior Center – 128 Providence St. | 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Tuesday, July 16
- Worcester Public Library (Main Branch) – 3 Salem Square | 9 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
- Worcester Public Library (Frances Perkins Branch) – 470 West Boylston St. | 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Worcester Senior Center – 128 Providence St. | 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

City officials remind residents that prolonged exposure to high temperatures and humidity impact the body’s natural cooling systems and can lead to elevated body temperature and risk of illness. Residents are advised to limit strenuous physical activity, stay hydrated, and check on neighbors.
