Worcester, MA (May 10, 2016) - The City of Worcester, with financial support from the Massachusetts Historical Commission, is conducting a study of historic preservation programs and activities administered by the City. The purpose of the study is to evaluate current programs, such as the City's Demolition Delay Ordinance and three Local Historic Districts, and recommend refinements and additional tools to improve the effectiveness of historic preservation efforts.
The Worcester Historical Commission and Preservation Worcester will co-host a community information meeting on these topics, at 6:00 PM on Thursday, May 12th, in the Community Room of Spencer Bank, 230 Park Avenue, Worcester.
The meeting will include an overview presentation of the study process and findings to date, followed by an open session where attendees will be able to view displays detailing specific study topics, engage with project team members to learn more and provide comments.
