The City of Worcester’s Division of Parks & Recreation announces the opening of playing fields and surfaces for both permitted and non-permitted uses.
All baseball, softball, multi-purpose fields, and tennis courts – more than 40 in all – are now available for use.
Basketball and Volleyball courts remain closed on the advice of public health officials. A determination on the opening of those courts will be made at a later date.
Out of an abundance of caution, the Division of Parks & Recreation is operating the playing fields under Phase 3, Step 1 guidelines of the Governor’s Reopening Plan. More information about the phased-in reopening of Massachusetts can be found at Reopening Massachusetts | Mass.gov.
All organized leagues utilizing City fields must submit a plan based on Phase 3, Step 1 guidelines to the Division of Parks and Recreation, 50 Skyline Drive, Worcester, MA 01605.
All visitors and users of City fields are reminded that COVID-19 protocols remain intact and will be enforced. Masks or face coverings are required and social distancing must be maintained.
