On the morning of February 3rd 2023, Worcester Police officers were informed that a red Subaru had been left running on Water St and was stolen. At about 11 AM, Worcester Police officers were on patrol in the area of Pleasant St when they were informed that the owner of the vehicle was following the stolen car, which had stopped to park on Pleasant St. As officers approached the vehicle, the operator, later identified as Anthony Walker, forty-eight-years-old of Oxford, took off running.
Officers ran after Mr. Walker, who was running through backyards on Newbury St. Mr. Walker eventually stopped running and was taken into custody by officers. He is charged with three outstanding arrests warrants, Use of a Motor Vehicle Without Authority, Disorderly Conduct, Disturbing the Peace, Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Trespassing, and Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License (2nd or Subsequent Offense.) The owner recovered the stolen vehicle.
